Kesha - Tick Tock

by Barbara and Roberta V. from Italy

Barbara says:

My favourite song is Tick Tock by Kesha. It’s really great! I love it because it conveys to me energy, rhythm, and cheerfulness. As I listened to it for the first time during a meeting with some friends of mine, everytime I listen to it I remember happy moments of my life and it "recharges" me in a really unique way! It makes me fly in the air even though my feet are firmly anchored to the ground but “slightly” restless. If I can, I always dance while the notes of this music flow. It makes me crazy!! I like the closing very much because it is like a relaxing moment after such a frenetic rhythm!

Roberta says:

My favourite song is Tick Tock by Kesha. I like the rhythm of this song because it gives me energy, joy and fun…

Lyrics

Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy
(Hey, what up girl?)
Put my glasses on, I’m out the door
I’m gonna hit this city (Lets go)
Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack
Cause when I leave for the night, I ain’t coming back
I’m talking – pedicure on our toes, toes
Trying on all our clothes, clothes
Boys blowing up our phones, phones
Drop-topping, playing our favorite cds
Pulling up to the parties
Trying to get a little bit tipsy

Don’t stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, Imma fight
Till we see the sunlight
Tick tock, on the clock
But the party don’t stop
Woah-oh oh oh
Woah-oh oh oh (x2)
Ain’t got a care in world, but got plenty of beer
Ain’t got no money in my pocket, but I’m already here
And now the dudes are lining up cause they hear we got swagger
But we kick em to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger
I’m talking about – everybody getting crunk, crunk
Boys trying to touch my junk, junk
Gonna smack him if he getting too drunk, drunk
Now, now – we goin till they kick us out, out
Or the police shut us down, down
Police shut us down, down
Po-po shut us -
Don’t stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, Imma fight
Till we see the sunlight
Tick tock, on the clock
But the party don’t stop
Woah-oh oh oh
Woah-oh oh oh (x2)
DJ, you build me up
You break me down
My heart, it pounds
Yeah, you got me
With my hands up
You got me now
You got that sound
Yea, you got me
DJ, you build me up
You break me down
My heart, it pounds
Yeah, you got me
With my hands up
Put your hands up
Put your hands up
No, the party don’t start until I walk in
Don’t stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, Imma fight
Till we see the sunlight
Tick tock, on the clock
But the party don’t stop
Woah-oh oh oh
Woah-oh oh oh (x2)

Michael Jackson - Heal the World

by Gianluca A. from Italy

Heal The World is my favourite song. It is full of meaning and expresses emotions and feelings that make you think about the whole world ... the song is sung by the King of Pop: Michael Jackson, who died on June 25th, 2009. Heal the World was the song he was most proud of. In this song, Michael would like us not to stand back from the tragedies that fall on people who are less lucky than us and invites us to make the world a better place…

LYRICS

There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much
Brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll Find There's No Need
To Cry
In This Place You'll Feel
There's No Hurt Or Sorrow

There are ways
To get there
If you care enough
For the living
Make a little space
Make a better place...

Chorus:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

If you want to know why
There's a love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares of joyful giving
If we try
We shall see
In the bliss we cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and start living

Then it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better world...

(Chorus)

And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth
Crucify it's soul
Though it's plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be God's glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart
I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords
Into plowshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place...

Chorus
(Repeat 3 times)

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
(Repeat Once)

You and for me
You and for me
(Repeat 9 more times)

Tokio Hotel - World Behind My Wall

by Alessia from Italy

Tokio Hotel is my favourite group. It is a German band founded by the singer Bill Kaulitz, the guitarist Tom Kaulitz, the drummer Gustav Schäfer and the bassist Georg Listing.
Their latest single is World Behind My Wall. I like it because when Bill sings in this song he is sweet and at the same time he’s energetic.

Lyrics

It’s raining today
The blinds are shut
It’s always the same
I tried all the games that They play
but they Made me insane
Life on tv
It’s random
It means nothing to me
I’m writing down
What cannot see
Wanna wake up in a dream

Oh
They’re telling me
It’s beautiful
I believe them
But will I ever know
The world behind my wall
Oh
The sun will shine
Like never before
One day will be
Ready to go
See the world behind my wall

Trains in the sky
Are travelling
Through fragments of time
They’re taking me to parts
Of my mind
That no one can find

I’m ready to fall
I’m ready to crawl
One my knees to know it all
I’m ready to heal
I’m ready to feel

Oh
They’re telling me
It’s beautiful
I believe them
But will I ever know
The world behind my wall
Oh
The sun will shine
Like never before
One day will be
Ready to go
See the world behind my wall
See the world behind my wall
See the world behind my wall
See the world behind my wall

I’m ready to fall
I’m ready to crawl
One my knees to know it all
I’m ready to heal
I’m ready to feel

…Take me there!

Oh
They’re telling me
It’s beautiful
I believe them
But will I ever know
The world behind my world

"Love Story" by Taylor Swift

by Marilisa from Italy

My favourite English song is Love Story by Taylor Swift. I like this song because it tells about Romeo and Juliet’s story and their secret love. Their parents don’t want this love, but Romeo and Juliet go on until death.

Lyrics

We were both young, when I first saw you.
I close my eyes and the flashback starts-
I'm standing there, on a balcony in summer air.
I see the lights; see the party, the ball gowns.
I see you make your way through the crowd-
You say hello, little did I know...
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles-
And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet"-
And I was crying on the staircase-
begging you, "Please don't go..."
And I said...
Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.
So I sneak out to the garden to see you.
We keep quiet, because we're dead if they knew-
So close your eyes... escape this town for a little while.
Oh, Oh.
Cause you were Romeo - I was a scarlet letter,
And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet" -
but you were everything to me-
I was begging you, "Please don't go"
And I said...
Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes-
Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel.
This love is difficult, but it's real.
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.
Oh, Oh.
I got tired of waiting.
Wondering if you were ever coming around.
My faith in you was fading-
When I met you on the outskirts of town.
And I said...
Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone.
I keep waiting, for you but you never come.
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think-
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said...
Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone.
I love you, and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad -- go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say... yes.
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.
'cause we were both young when I first saw you

I love volleyball

by Roberta V. from Italy

My favourite sport is volleyball. I love playing and watching it. In the past I used to play it about three times a week but now I don’t play it any more. Volleyball is a fantastic sport and I’ d like to play it again. In my ex team there were only girls, now they play tournaments and I am one of their greatest fans! However I play volleyball in my free time. The Italian national team won the World and European Championships. My favourite sportswoman is Francesca Piccinini. I love volleyball because it is very exciting.

Bruce Lee

by Luigi S. from Italy

"The best fighter is not a boxer, a karateka or a judoka. The best fighter is someone who can adapt to any style of fighting. "
(Bruce Lee)

Bruce Jun Fan Lee (Chinese traditional 李小龙, pinyin Xiǎolóng Li, San Francisco, November 27, 1940 - Hong Kong, 20 July 1973) was a Chinese actor, martial artist, philosopher. Born in San Francisco and grown up in Hong Kong, Lee is the most remembered actor in the world for the presentation of Chinese martial arts. His films, produced in Hong Kong and Hollywood, elevated them to a new level, for the first time and suddenly increasing the interest in this type of discipline in the West. Lee became an icon especially for the Chinese, as a portrait of national pride. Some saw Lee as a model for acquiring a strong and efficient body and a high level of physical fitness, while developing skills in close combat. Despite the violent content of his films, Bruce was actually a peaceful person and against the use of martial arts as a means of offence and leadership.

On the occasion of what would have been his 65th birthday (November 2005), a commemorative statue was laid on Avenue of the Stars in Kowloon, in his memory. In 1993 he was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Dance is My Life!

Barbara from Italy

My favourite sport is dance. I like all types of dance. I attended eight years of classic and modern dance, but I want to try a new dance and I think I will do Latin American dances, because I like them a lot. Last summer I did couple dancing for two months in an afternoon course at the seaside and I had a very good time!! It was a wonderful experience, also because I had the possibility to meet some stars of this field, such as Umberto Gaudino, Raimondo Todaro and Stefano di Filippo, who won the world championship in 2008. I watched them carefully while they were dancing on the stage during a performance of theirs and I dreamed with them: I hope to become a good dancer, but I have no illusions. The most important thing is to devote oneself completely!
In the pictures below:
Stefano Di Filippo
Raimondo Todaro
Federica from Italy
My favourite sport is dance. I'm a fantastic Latin American dancer! Exactly, I dance samba, cha cha cha, rumba, paso doble and jive. My idols are Riccardo Cocchi and Julia Zogoroutchenko, who are champions in this sport. I like Stefano Di Filippo and Hannah Korttunnen, too.
I've been practising this kind of dance for six years, since I was eight. It is very hard. I participate in some competitions every year. In this sport, the dancers wear particular clothes and shoes. They are very expensive because there is Swarovski crystal on them. I love that!
Giusy from Italy
The sport I prefer is Latin American dance. My idols are Michael Malitowsky and Joanna Lewis. I started dancing 10 years ago, when I was a little girl. I dance in competitions and I particularly like wearing my beautiful dresses! I really love them!

Dancing is a very beautiful thing, especially if you do it for passion. When I dance I feel free and I don’t think about anything else. My favourite ballet dancer is Rossella Brescia. I like her because even if she is not so young any more she is still in shape and she transmits emotions when she dances.

"Pink" Football!

My favourite sport is football. I have loved it since I was five years old. I like watching matches on TV and my favourite team is Inter! I think it is the best team in Italy and it has a lot of good players.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, because I enjoy myself very much playing football!

We haven't got a favourite sport

I don't like sports
by Gigi from Italy

I think that sport is very important but I don’t like doing sports because I am very lazy.:)
It is very important because it is useful for your body and health.
In this period I’m going swimming but I don’t like it very much.

No favourite sports, but...
by Maria Rita from Italy

I haven't got a favourite sport, but when I have free time I go to the gym and to the swimming pool. I like swimming because I relax. If I could I'd stay in the water all day! In fact, I go to the swimming pool or to the gym when I've had a bad day, because then I feel better.
I go there about 3 times a week. I usually prefer going on Saturday afternoons, before going out with my friends. Anyway, I think swimming is more interesting and relaxing than working out in the gym.

Figure Ice-Skating

by Martina from Italy

My favourite sport is ice-skating. This sport is very interesting for me but I have never even walked on the ice rink. The most popular Italian figure ice-skater is Carolina Kostner. She was born in Bolzano on 8th February 1987 and now she lives in Oberstdorf, Germany, where she studies and prepares for the competitions.
Carolina has participated in several competitions, which have made her famous; in the year 2001, in fact, she won the Italian Junior Championship and many other competitions followed, which brought her to be named by the president of Coni standard-bearer of the Italian team, on 22nd November 2005.
Obviously she has made some mistakes during her competitions; however, for me she remains the best ice-skater.

What a feeling!

Rosanna from Italy

My favourite sport is dance. I’ve been practicing it since I was 4 years old, so for 11 years. I love dancing, it is a way to relax, to think, to reflect and it is a way to express what I don't succeed in saying with words. I have always loved it since I was a child. When I dance I don’t think about anything else, it is as if the problems that I have at that time magically faded away. Dancing with these feelings is a wonderful thing. I do classical, modern, contemporary, jazz dance, tap-dancing and hip-hop and these various types of dance are all splendid, each in its way, and each of them allows me to feel a different feeling while I am dancing. In short, dance for me is a sport indeed, but it is especially a performing art. The people who don’t practice it don’t know what happens inside you when you dance.

Viviana from Italy

My favourite sports are dance and football.
I started dancing at the age of five, but I stopped when I was nine because I had too much homework. I really like modern and Latin American dance.
I also like football. In my school I play as a defender and train every Tuesday afternoon. As a class we also play against other classes in the morning, when we have P.E. lessons.

Dance, dance, dance!

by Stefania from Italy

My favourite sport is dance, especially ballet.
I started going to a dance school at the age of six and now it is my ninth year.
Three years ago I started using the typical ballet shoes, the pointe ones. I love them but they are so painful!
Dance is not as easy as someone might think, it is very difficult !!
I hope I will go to my dance school for a long time!!

Carolina Kostner

by Rosemary from Italy

Carolina Kostner (born 8 February 1987) is an Italian figure skater. She is the 2008 World silver medalist, the 2007, 2008 and 2010 European champion and the 2007-08 & 2008-09 Grand Prix Final Bronze Medalist. In December 2009, she was ranked second in the world. Extreme sports

Bungee Jumping
by Marilisa from Italy

My favourite sport is bungee jumping. It is an extreme sport. I like watching it. I’d like to do it but my parents think that this sport is very dangerous. In this sport you have to jump into space, usually from a bridge about 120-320 metres high, and let yourself swing in the air.
Surfing, Sailing, Windsurfing and S.U.P.
by Mario from Italy
My favourite sports are surfing, sailing, windsurfing and SUP (Stand Up Paddle), and in general all extreme sports. SUP is not as popular as the other sports; it is a mix of surfing and kayak, you have a big surfboard (the smallest one is 8.5 feet long and the biggest is 13.5 feet) and a long paddle, you must surf or go on a long distance race. In this sport I'm the Italian Juniores Champion, I won this title in Sardinia, on San Teodoro Coast (beautiful place!). This is a good sport because you do aerobic exercise, and you can do it every day, because the board is compatible with all the sea conditions. It is also great fun because you do it with a friend or with lots of friends!

My favourite sport is football

by Pasquale from Italy

My favourite sport is football. I like and follow it because it is a very special sport.
My favourite team is Bari, of course, the team of my city! I watch their matches and the interviews on TV and I’m interested in the transfer market.
I’ve always followed football and I love it. Football is not only giving a couple of kicks to a ball, for me it is an art and a passion.
